Post subject:  Rental Property

Now that we have done the deed and sold the house, I must get over the excitement and get down to practicalities. Number 1 must be a house, or we will be homeless!!!

Can anyone recommend any agents etc who we can contact about this, or know anyone who has a house to rent for about a year or so? (Jax, already noted your recommendation but need to look at all options). We will need a 3 bed unfurnished house that has to be dog friendly, preferably somewhere out of Paphos on the Polis side and higher up rather than near the sea. Will also need internet access for work.

Will it be too early to look for a house when I arrive on 15th March for mid-May or should we wait until nearer the time? I don't mind if we have to take the property a little earlier than we arrive.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Tina we're coming over around end of April and like you we'll be looking for a long term rental.
There seems to be for rent signs everywhere at the moment, the last few visits we've made where we spend some time looking have shown there to be an abundance of rentals.
We have been strongly advised to barter and also make sure that the agreement is not one sided in the owners favour, one guy who tried to pull a fast one on us was very reluctant to have a properly drawn up agreement.

Point taken John. I too have been advised to barter. I will be having a good look round next month. I have a few leads as well now.

Don't spend too much time Tina or you won't have time to meet all us fun people. :D

I promise that Trish. I want to make time to meet as many of us lovely people as I can. I can't wait.

I have emailed Tommy on your behalf.

About that other property - just ask the question about pets. They can only say no.

The knee is extremely sore this morning - couldn't resist dancing the night away at Jean's do, so it is self inflicted.

We drove around the bit by the cemetry yesterday to have a look at what is being developed there. Some pretty nice properties up there just on the outskirts of the village. Somehow I don't think any of them will be dirt cheap.
