Hi

I was wondering if anyone has competed in the Cyprus challenge. I hadn't heard of it until I came across it in a magazine today and quite fancy having a go (any excuse to come over).

I'd like to know how hard you found it and if you recommend it. Also how well organized it is.

Thanks for any info you may have, i have included this link for anyone who is wondering what i am talking about or is perhaps up for a challenge.

Great site folks

Hi David
Its been going for years and is very well set up .
I have not taken part in it  I have trouble running a bath ..

I get tired just watching them

Funny thing, I've never heard of it until now, I know they do them all over the world but didn't know about the one held here

I'd love to have a go but I'm washing my hair that day

Houston Medical Ambulance attended as Medical Cover.

It is very professionally organised, there were a few injuries, as some of the routes are rugged indeed, speed downhill being the main cause, skin and muscle colliding with rough stone never wins.

Sure you would enjoy each day, you have to complete all 4 days for the medal.

You get to ride in a 4x4 either at the front or back, at least one is a medical vehicle, food and water at finish.

All ages, and nationalities, they travel to Paphos just for the opportunity to take part.

Hi

Thanks for the info, it does look like a good event.

I am probably going to sign up for this and have a couple of mates interested in competing so will look out for the PP team maybe if i can keep up with Pete and Neil i should do a decent time. (':)').(to the pub)('')

Looking at the website, i think you can do just the last day which is a 10k run around Paphos starting and finishing at the habour, we could get a team up for this event i'm sure, might be fun could even have a weekly or monthly training run, it makes a good excuse for a get together and some liquid refreshments afterwards. though still in blighty i would miss all the fun.

Any takers?

David
