Morning all Does anyone know of a place that 'boards' budgie's? I have a lovely little budgie that will need to go into 'kennels' when we go back to UK in April for a week, and also for the whole of July when we go back again. (can't tell I am looking forward to that can you ) Hope one of you lovely peeps can point me in the right direction please. Thanks. Wendy. |

Wendy never heard of a budgie boarding kennels. Maybe a responsible youngster would like to take your budgie home for pocket money as they don't take an awful lot of looking after. |

I am sure someone will be able to help out Wendy. Unfortunately I don't think our dog would like it very much, as she sees all birds in our garden as a threat - even if they are just flying overhead |

Likewise Tina, my two chase anything and it would certainly drive Koo Koo mad since she has an obsession with anything that moves she has to try and get. It is terrible on windy days when leaves are blowing about as she gets herself so worked up and pitiful to see as well as her head starts shaking and she can't stop herself. |

Is there not maybe a neighbour you can leave it with? Like Trish, says, budgies are pretty low-maintenance. Does it talk by the way? My Grandma used to have a bugdie that was a great talker - used to prattle on for hours, even had her Geordie accent! Only way to shut it up was cover the cage - it would just chirp "night night" and then go silent! |

Thanks all, little Charlie will be going on his jollies to Alex's house to 'chirp' away with Ronnie He cannot talk just yet, he is only a baby and I have only had him 2 weeks, but I do keep chatting to him all the time, and my other bird in the UK is brilliant, he chats away to you, then squares his head to you and his eyes go all evil and he wants to bite you . But I love him to bits, and really miss him, he used to go to bed when I told him Thanks very much Alex, your a star and thanks Bernie for pm, now sorted Wendy.x |

Try the pet store opposite Butcherboy - I can't remember the name of it but i am sure they had birds in there last time I was in. They looked after our rotweiler and cat over Christmas and they were both fine |

Given the Cypriot tradition of eating little birds, I am not sure whether I would want to board my budgie in a shop opposite ButcherBoy. Well, it struck me as funny, anyway. Verity. |

On the plus side the average Cypriot hunter wouldn't want to take on a big scary budgie without the comfort of a 4x4 truck, a few mates, some hunting dogs and a double-barreled shotgun, so at least you would see them coming! |
