Post subject:  Kouklia and taxis

Hi all,
does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere to eat in Kouklia or the local area for when i'm there in april. Read about somewhere called Thanasis? that is supposed to be quite good. Been to Pissouri countless times and just fancy a change occasionally. Also, does anyone know of a taxi driver based in the area who doesn't charge the earth and actually uses a meter or, am I asking for too much there?
Cheers [/i]

Hi,

Yes Thanasis is pretty good - they have music Friday nights but I think its best to book.

Then theres good old Georges at Mandria - and the tavernas at Anarita are pretty good too.

Taxis - I'm still looking - I booked one to take us to the airport because it was advertised as being in Timi - he actually came from Coral Bay and charged us for the privilage!! If we all go somewhere together again and can't get a lift we'll be walking across the fields - it will only take a few minutes!! :manic

Only just seen this. Went to Thanassis not long after it first opened...not that impressed at all. Six months later went again, to see if we got it wrong the first time. No, weren't overly impressed that time either.

The best taverna in the general area is Pericles at Nata. Extensive menu, food always fresh, cooked food nice and hot, prepared by masterchef Pericles himself, always a warm welcome from Pericles and his wife. Log fire on cold winter evenings and so on and so on. We've been back time and time again for the past two years. Also, amazing Sunday buffet lunch, but try to get there for 12.30 to avoid the crowd. Lloyd
