I'm amazed that you all seem to get up so early, even after partying

I was watching Saving Private Ryan until nearly 1am but have not long got up - the kids were doing renditions in our room while we drank tea, hubs has just done the bacon n egg butties, so we've all gravitated downstairs. Mind you it's only 10.59am here yet!

Considering I didn't get to bed until 4.00am I didn't do too bad because I was up at 8.00am for the dogs.

You know what I will be doing soon. zzzzzzzzzzzz

I'll second that, it was a great night Jean, thanks for inviting us too. We had a lovely time but sadly David was feeling a bit poorly otherwise we'd have been more lively. He said "60 No Way"....... that apple pie was delish! :D :D :D

David's been laid up since, in a really bad way today with his difficulty breathing, I'm quite worried about him. I have to be at work but will pop back at lunchtime to check on him

Helen hope David gets sorted- as you say he was under the weather on Sat. Get him to the docs. Marj

Author:  Candy [ Mon Feb 25, 2008 1:50 pm ]
Post subject:

Helen, hope David is feeling better.

As Marj says better get him to the doctors if he is having problems with breathing.

Author:  TheNewMe [ Mon Feb 25, 2008 4:49 pm ]
Post subject:

Thanks Marj and Trish for your concern. I popped home for lunch and he was up and about although his breathing is still difficult. It's a worry because he's asthmatic and I'm trying to get him to Dr Dora today despite his reluctance, I'll see how he is later.

If his inhalers are not helping he should go and see the doctor. He may need some steroids or a nebuliser. I am sure you know this, but I thought I would put my nurses hat on and encourage him to go.

Any update Helen? Have you got him to the doctors yet.

Breathing problems should be looked at right away in Cyprus - I know because I ended up with pneumonia and thought I was just smoking too much.

Apparently I was told by the GPs in the General that it is quite common for foreigners to have pneumonia in the first two years of living here - not that I want to alarm you but better being safe than sorry.

Not sure if its any help but running hot water in the sink with his head under a tea-towel breathing in the steam might help :o

We had to do this with my son when he was younger due to his asthma :D the steam is suppose to widen the breathing tubes :?

I don't mean to sound callous, but are there any more photos from the night of the party? Dave seemed to be taking loads, so it would be good to see them if they have come out okay.

I think that if Helen's hubby is asthmatic he knows what he should do really. I am sure Helen will sort him out. I bet you are fed up with us being pushy now aren't you, Helen?

John Lowe - 3 times world champion darts player. I met him on Saturday night before the party started, as he was giving a demonstration at the Ambassador restaurant. I also met him on Sunday lunchtime when I went to the Seahorse for lunch. What a really nice guy.

Hi all, been busy at work so just got the chance to answer and thanks Molly, he's a bit better today :)

Verity: I'm sure you look very fetching in your nurses hat but don't think David should see in his condition, might get the heart racing, he's a sucker for a uniform

His breathing is easier now, he actually slept lying down last night instead of in a chair. Pete, thanks for the suggestion, he uses steam, Vicks, obas oil etc etc which all help and he insists he's fighting it off now!

I understand your concern Trish and will keep my beady eye on him just in case ...... I think it's just a bad cold, I'd recognise anything else from past experience.

I really appreciate everyone's concern, I miss my friends in the UK who I would normally chat to so there's no way I consider any of you pushy Verity 8)

Sincere thanks to all :D :D

Good news, Helen.

Glad we didn't go over the top. I hate a fuss, so I would have been telling us all to back off.

You will be pleased to know that I don't wear a nurses uniform Helen. Either my own clothes for working on the community, or theatre scrubs if I work in the hospital. Not very fetching.
