Hi All,

Hubby and I are looking to take a little break around the Easter period.
We don't want to go back to the UK, but can't find many Airlines flying anywhere else. Those that do are incredibly expensive.

Does anyone have any low budget break ideas, or recommendations of a good travel agent?!

All destinations considered, but preferably warm!!!!

Cheers

I went to Sharm in March last year - absolutely fantastic! Went a little cool at night, so take a jacket, but the days were gorgeous. You must do the excursion to Rus Mohammed - brilliant snorkelling.

We have been to the Maldives, Neil, and I would love to go back if we can ever afford it. Brilliant snorkelling. The Red Sea is also a great place to snorkel.

Us in the Maldives. Hope it puts this picture up at the right size. I did what Pete says, but he usually has to re-size me.

I've not been to either of those but the best snorkelling I've experienced was on the Great Barrier Reef - absolutely spectacular! :D

One of the reasons I've not snorkelled much since is I reckon it would be too much of a tough act to follow!

As for holidays from here, I agree Egypt is probably the obvious choice (although I haven't been there myself yet - keep meaning to!), but apparently there's also some lovely beaches to visit over in the North!

Have had a few days in Athens, quite cheap to get to from here and loads to see.

We are off on a short break to Malta on Wednesday, flying from Larnaca airport with Emirates. We come back the following Monday - so just 5 nights away from lovely Cyprus.

We booked flights independently on Emirates own website (e-tickets) at Cy€232 for the 2 of us and accommodation through a website called Sunshine.co.uk (bog standard 3* HB in Bugibba) for GB£93 for both of us.

We've been before and, although Malta has never been my favourite destination - we go so we can meet up with my parents whilst they are there on holiday for a month over February.

I prefer the north part of the island or Gozo - maybe one year we will go in the summer and tour a bit further.

Hoping to go off on the mini-cruise to Syria towards the end of October to celebrate my (ssshhh) 50th birthday. The holiday starts as soon as you board the ship and - the port is only 10 minutes from our house :D so we can be home again with the kettle on for a brew as fast as you like!
