Oh no, this is one UK annoyance that I thought wouldn't happen in Cyprus!!!! Maybe it is a good thing we won't be able to get a landline up in Narnia

Not had any cold calls. Used to get them when we had a landline in Emba, but not since I only have a mobile.

Yes there is a lot of cold calling here. I really regret having my phone number in the book as they just start at the beginning and work through, then they start again and again and again.

I think the worse ones are W.....sh...d who phone up even though you have had a survey done and nothing wrong.

You had a survey and they found nothing wrong? Wow! These people could, as someone once reported, find damp in a Bedouin text! They can afford a lot of canvassers given their extortionate rates, which is why it only takes them about three weeks to work through the phone book. Grrrrrr!

Haven't had the land line in long, so no problems so far, but not sure if you automatically go in the phone book when you get a new line connected - anyone know if it can be avoided??

When we had a land line we were automatically put in the phone book. No one mentioned ex directory.

Yep, turns out this is the case - Mrs F advises me she opted us out too, so we should be save from the cold callers!

When I had my landline fitted, I was not even given an option to be ex-d or put in the book

I do have the odd call, but its always from a Cypriot lady who cannot understand me saying, 'oxi wrong number' Then she slams the phone down on me

Hi,
We get cold called a lot. I cut them off by telling them our house is rented. They don't want to know after that.

Hi Pete, thanks for the welcome.
It was very sunny in Episkopi yesterday, my hubby burnt his face and top of his head, ah.

Today is a bit dull and overcast but we hope for better as the day goes on.

Morning Pete,

No we live in the village. Nothing to do with the forces. Been here just over a year, prior to that we lived in Ypsonas for 3 years.

I like Episkopi, very quiet, great for our cats!

And very safe living next to the garrison :D :D well that might depend on if they want to take the garrison out with a big bomb I suppose  only kidding :D :D

So you weren't there when they had the big fire some 8 years ago which burnt down quite a few properties over that way & had all the military out fighting it for days :( I was one of those with a shovel getting a really good suntan

You can still see the burnt area around the secret valley area

No, latest fire we had round here was on the arial (sp) farm at Akrotiri. That was impressive!
