I have to be honest - the thought struck me yesterday. Ditched the boots and polo necks and out hunted out my nice summery tops (no vests yet). Got my new cardy (thanks Outfit) just in case it gets a bit brisk!

Still got my extra blanket on the bed but I think I can store that away as well.

I just love the sunshine!!! :D :celebrate

Tricia, I remember the days when I could brave Princess Street on New Year's Eve with my little black dress and a wee thin coat and then walk home through the slush as no taxis available - last time I was in Edinburgh 2 years ago I though I might die of hypothermia and I had about 4 layers on!

Oh to be a teenager again!

Y

I think you are being a bit previous, Y. It is only the end of February and there is plenty of time for cold winds and storms.

I am not packing anything away. It was cold in April here last year - in fact it was warmer in the UK than it was here last Easter.

Aaahh, you solved my question Peppermint. Now I know who you are, I was racking my brains the day you came in thinking 'where do I know you from!'. Don't take a lot to confuse me but thanks for putting me out of my misery!!

Well, we took the leccy blanket off a few weeks ago and I made Owen put it back last week. I was fair nithered!! (yorkshire saying  ).

Still got my leccy blanket on, Karen. It flippin' snowed last week.

Although it was sunny yesterday the wind was lazy - it blew straight through me.

I'm still wearing my thermal underwear and the electric blanket is still on the bed. The summer clothes will be staying put until April!

Must admit I've been a lot colder this year than past years. Is that an acclimatisation thing? We went for lunch at Vardas Beach on Saturday and I saw tourists, in bikinis no less, sunbathing!! I was freezing and had to put me coat on (and I never said a wrong word!!).

I never thought in a million years I'd have a leccy blanket, I used to scoff at Owen when he said we needed one. Not me I thought, only for pensioners, next step the communal foot fairy but, I conceed to defeat it is the dogs doody's.

Kaz - like a bug in a rug :sunny

No way am I thinking of packing up the winter stuff - still wearing it.

Actually Steve got burnt yesterday as he was working outside adjusting a flight box for his new CD player thingy. He was moaning last night that his forehead hurt. :?

But you're a Geordie, no one expects you to be wearing anything on top, even during the worse of what winter has to throw at us

Here's a Geordie thermometer:

50 degrees - southerners turn their heating on: geordies plant their gardens

30 degrees - southern cars wont start: geordies drive with their windows down

10 degrees - southerners turn their heating up: geordies go swimming in the north sea

Zero - southerners begin to evacuate: geordies have one last barbeque

Minus 10 - southerners cease to exist: geordies put a jacket on

Minus 100 - santa claus abandons the north pole: geordies put a hat on

Minus 173 - alcohol freezes: geordies complain that the pubs are shut

Minus 297 - microbiological life starts to disappear- the cows in northumberland complain of vets cold hands

Minus 460 - all atomic motion stops: geordies start blowing on their hands

Minus 500 - hell freezes over: sunderland qualifys for europe
