Pete, have you ever been round the streets where I live, the dogs that are let out and most of them are pedigrees.
I don't think that is the case with them as she is now quite old. She is twice the size she was in the photo (getting fat) and now going grey, hence it would have been difficult for me to put her in the car (by the way is now nice and clean inside and out - smells like a disinfectant factory inside)
When we first moved here she was not allowed in their garden until I told them that she has arthritis and it was not fair that she had nowhere to shelter from (her kennel is in the road at the bottom of a hill and I imagine fills up with water each time it rains). the rain She used to come into our garden and try and shelter under the verandah, but what a mess she made with all her hair going everywhere, fleas jumping around etc. You can imagine. In any case they now leave their electronic gates open so she can go into the underground parking areas when it rains.
Must admit that the family did make a sort of fuss over her when they got back from work and school. They wouldn't even touch her at one time, until they saw her playing with us and she loves to give her paw and say hello.
They are learning slow but sure.
