I like to read quite a bit as some of you know, and have found myself delving increasingly into non-fiction stuff of late, and have found a few topics that I just find endlessly fascinating. :popcorn

Top of the list for me are:

- Ancient cultures and technology, especially the Romans, Greeks and Egyptians
- Religion and philosophy - why people believe what they do etc.

I can read about this stuff for ages, and love weighing up different approaches and opinions.

So what topics do everyone else find endlessly interesting? And no smart-alec replies saying "not this one"! :D

Great minds & all that

I like watch Nat Geo programmes, Mythbusters, Mega Movers, Super Structures, Extreme Engineering, Future Weapons, Mega Machines, Anything to do with Mother nature & things like that are really interesting, seeing how the human race is progressing with its endeavours to go beyond the limits we currently have :o

So the complete opposite to you mate, you're looking back at how we did things, I'm looking forward at how we get to go to the next level  :D

I read a lot of ancient history too. I find anything Greek, Roman or Egyptian fascinating.

It seems people are picking on me today. On this thread and others. I can't help the way I look but may well have to change my avatar.
Gary :(
There, that's better.

You'll note I was very careful not to menmtion anything about winning anything  , although if pushed I would suggest that we won the hearts of the nation with the swashbuckling football we played under KK last time round! :D

Yeah and lost it when he came out with that statement about the country not being able to realise how special the club and the people were this time round.
What a load of tosh, anyway what's the theme of this thread ?

I am with you on the religion and philosophy subjects CF.

Also elephants. Love 'em, but I wouldn't want one as a pet.

I Love children watching, I have worked with children as a paediatric nurse and health visitor and am have 3 of my own plus grandchuildren, but I never tire of watching and listening to young children, they fascinate me and read alot about child developmnent.

I am fascinated by nature versus nurture debate and have come to the conclusion that the jesuits got it right.

"Give me the child until he is seven and I give you the man!"

Perhaps this topic might have something to do with me still acting as a child, especially when with children.
