I've received a email from a lady who is trying to co-ordinate all the different attempts at getting this poison off the streets & banned in Cyprus, so if you'd like to add your name to the petition, please email Audrey Lowery at radiance@spidernet.net Your help in this matter will save no end of animals, not just pets but other wildlife that gets caught up in this mess

This post will not go down until it a sticky even if i have to stay up all night. Ok all i am asking is if you live in cyprus please help out. I will not force you in to it, but just ask for your kind nature to come out, and help out. PLEASESSSSSSSSSSS Thank you If we all stick together we can beat this, and make cyprus a great place to holiday and live in.

Ok i am so tired tonight just brought it up again, but need my bed as been up for 15 hrs. But be sure i be up nice and early to bring it up again NIGHT NIGHT EVERYONE XX I do hope when i wake up it a sticky

I've received a forwarded email regarding a new threat to our animals, I now have permission to show this on the forum from the original author: I have been forwarded your email regarding lanate and would like to update you of the following: We are the Argos Animal Rescue & Protection Association who are also one of the founding members of the 'Cyprus Voice for Animals' - this is a union of the majority of animal welfare organisations in Cyprus formed as a government pressure lobby. On 4th September 2007, CVAdelegates had a ministerial conference with the Ministers of Agriculture, Interior and Justice regarding animal welfare. This was a long awaited conference following our demonstration to ban lanate outside the Ministry of Agriculture on 22nd February 2007. At this meeting the Minister informed us that the EU has banned lanate because it is harmful to humans and will be withdrawn from EU markets in 2009. We have been advised by the Govt. Veterinary Services that a substance has been added to lanate that makes the animals vomit. How true that is, we are not able to verify this. However, there is a far more potent pesticide on the market called 'Furadan' - with no smell no taste and once this is ingested, the animal cannot be saved. These pesticides should not be made available to anyone who is not licenced to use. Rgds Stella Stylianou Argos Animal Welfare This new threat sounds even more disasterious than 'Lanate' so I would be extra careful when walking your animal anywhere these's days

The first is A Charity Auction on the 6th April and the second An Elton John Tribute Evening starring Andrew Oliver on Cypriot Good Friday 25th April. We would be grateful for your help and ask that you might consider printing off a couple of copies for friends and family to look at.
