Friends who have two children aged 15 and 18 have asked me for some recommendations for hotels to stay in this year.

I have not stayed in any of the hotels, so don't have a clue.

Any suggestions gratefully received and passed on. I think Kato Pafos would be a good idea, but Coral Bay also has some life in the evenings. Just thinking about keeping the teenagers amused.

ps - I would prefer personal recommendations, not just a link to a web site. They can go on line and do that themselves.

Thanks.

Didn't you stay in the Pafian Sun Verity, along The Tomb of the Kings Road.

Its in a good spot and do lots of entertainment for young and old.

I did, Molly. But we weren't in it too much as we were only using it as a base to sleep. It seemed to have entertainment for younger children in the evenings, don't know about teenagers.

I could go and ask about their entertainment itinery.

They seem to cater for all ages and group. Good evening entertainment as well.

I think they are all inclusive as well.

They are all inclusive. We weren't.

Any other ideas, folks? Anyone stayed in any of the hotels where they cater for teenagers?

Morning Verity

Have stayed at a nmber of Hotels over the years:

Alexander the Great, Imperial, and Venus Beach all central to the activities of Kato Paphos.

The Crown Horizon in Coral Bay is excellent value for Money with plenty of activity - sport centre and spa is an added bonus and also walking distance to life in Coral Bay.

We stayed at the Venus Beach last year - we wouldn't do it again.

Before your friends book get them to check their choice on Tripadvisor.

Hi there

2 years ago we stayed at Pagona apartments in Kato Paphos. within easy walking distance of the nice restaurants etc, my 2 daughters of similar ages are not into the 'entertainment' as its just not cool, but they love to people watch! a very hard age group to entertain so i wish your friend luck.

Hi Julie

I stayed at the Pagona about 3 years ago, the year before they changed the pool round. Excellent accomodation, pool bar, some nights a bit of entertainment, yet close enough to walk into the main area, but away from the noise. Family run as well.

Hi Jean

Thought you might be on here today as you are now happily retired, you lucky thing!

Our apartment is right in front of the Pagona, when we saw it we already knew the area from staying there!

If I see you next week I will say hi! You of course dont know me from Adam so it will be a bit of a surprise for you eh??

Have a nice day.

Julie

You mean the Kings Hotel, Molly. It is good for a base - clean sheets and somewhere to put your suitcases. But I wouldn't recommend it for a family holiday. The rooms are very basic.

If you want a list of the places I have stayed I can give them to you. You have missed out the one next to the strip joint.  But our use for them was as a base only, and they are not suitable, otherwise I would recommend them. I am looking for somewhere for a family holiday where teenagers might feel comfortable.

The only one we went to that may be okay is the Pafian one and I will look into that a bit more thoroughly. Plus Chris's suggestion. The Crown Plaza at Coral Bay might be a contender. I always think Coral Bay has just enough bars for younger teenagers to wander around without Mums and Dads getting too fraught about where they might be. I feel sure they will want a bit of freedom at their ages. The kids, I mean, not the Mum and Dad.

I may end up just sending a list of hotels and telling her to look on Tripadvisor.

I will remember to be more explicit next time.

I have lots of senile moments. I am at that funny age now.

At my age I don't have time left to lose the will to live, but the speed of this computer is really narking me. I think I will go and watch a cookery programme.

Now that is pure desperation.

Have stayed in the Ledra Beach, the Athena Beach the Cypria Maris and the Alexander the Great, Cypria Maris used to be by far the best but could not recommend it anymore, have heard that the Cypria Bay is very good but I would opt for the Alexander if we were coming over to Paphos for a few days.

Maybe not a great help but I'd rule out the AB and the CM, Ledra was not bad, good pool area and it's own beach area but some may feel it to be too far out.

We stayed at the Imperial for four holidays, and the Paphian Bay for two, when there was building work outside the Imperial. Rachel, our daughter, enjoyed the Imperial, from the age of ten even to now(15) she still goes down there when her friend from Durham is staying there. They cater for kids, have a good team of entertainers. Easter is alright there, but in the summer holidays there are just too many kids and the music is playing for most of the day around the pool. The Paphian Bay does not really cater for kids. On the two occasions we stayed there, it was strictly ballroom dancing, with the German Come Dancing Team.

By the way, the food is good at the Imperial. Breakfasts, buffet style with a really good selection including, in the warmer weather, omlettes and pancakes freshly cooked outside. Evening meals excellent, or the chance to swop your evening meal for a lunch if you want to eat out in the evening.

Thanks. At least I have a few starting points now. I will look at these hotels on Tripadvisor and pass on the information.
