How do you deal with unsolicited emails? Do you read them or do you just delete them? If they are from people you know, but you know they are going to be full of cr*p do you feel guilty if you just delete them? Personally I don't give a stuff. Why should they dump their negative energy on you and put a drain on your positive energy? My signature isn't just for show. I really mean it. It is good to de-clutter the rubbish out of your life from time to time. Verity. |

I delete all unsolicited mail whether it's from unknown sources or from friends/family. I have a cousin who persistently forwards every email she gets forwarded to her about anything & everything. The ones I hate the most are the 'chain letter' type which try and make you feel guilty.......... not me, delete or spam depending on if I know the sender, no qualms. As for warnings about viruses, the last virus that nearly corrupted my hard drive and lost me all my photos and documents was received in a forwarded email from my step-daughter warning me about a virus! Never again! |

I delete all unsolicited e mail from unknown sources and friends and family. I have a friend who constantly forwards joke and chain e mails to me at work. I don't have time to read all this junk when I'm working so I'm afraid I delete them all without even opening them. Julie x |

I use to reply to emails from some people I sort of know but since I became this forums administrator, I've had to change the way I respond now, as I have to be more responsible |

Delete them all. Since receiving joke type e-mails from a friend in Cyprus, we started to get bank ones, the sort wanting your details or asking you to click on a link. If you do receive a joke type one, and it is so hilarious that you want to send it on, delete all previous senders first. |

The technical people will know best, and it may depend on your ISP, but can e-mails from people that you don't want not be directed to your spam filter, and you would only know about them whene you went to empty that. Would make life more pleasant Alastair |

I delete them. Can't waste my time with joke emails - they bore me rotten anyway. We have some friends who seem to spend all their time forwarding them on to us - fortunately they all end up in Guy's inbox not mine!!! I am more careful about who has my email address. And as for people dumping on you, don't waste another moment on them. You know exactly what I mean if you have read my email |

Members who do not have an email checker may find this FREE program of some use. It checks and lists all your emails that are waiting on the server of your mail provider and gives you the option to mark them as blacklisted - bounce - delete or friend, and learns you preferences as you use it. This way the unwanted emails never reach your computer unless you want them to as they are deleted at the server. Can be downloaded at :- http://www.mailwasher.net/download/?q=download |

You can have all your email sent to your 'jumk mail' folder if you so choose but you'd still need to go through it & move the mail you want to the 'safe folder' manually It better to have it sent to your 'inbox' & then delete & block any that you don't want, this should then go direct to your 'junk mail box instead If you have Hotmail, go into your options & change your settings to which ever you feel better with, then sit back & see how it goes, you can have it move all suspect mail that aren't in your 'safe senders' or address book sent direct to 'junk mail' if you prefer |
