does anybody else get interference between about 5-7pm local time?

No. What size dish do you have? We used to get a lot of pixilation when we had a 2.7 m dish, but have had very little interference with a 3 m dish.

ours is also a 3 metre dish, but this happens every evening at the same time

Mines a tiny 2.7 and no probs - then again I know 'a man who can' so thats probably why :D

Maybe yours has a spider, there's been a gust of wind or all those other reasons that Ive forgotten?

Hi Chas,

I have 3m dish & due to where its located in my garden, I get a lot of interference as my signal is being slightly blocked by my villa & we have around 5 lots of electrical lines above, which I'm told by Piglets man that can, is causing a lot of interference with my signal :roll: :roll:

I should get it moved but as I'm moving from this Villa in a few months, I can't be bothered paying to have it moved & then moved again :shock: :D

piglet, if it's a spider as you suggest, it must have an alarm clock that gets it up at 5pm and it has to be in by 7pm lol.

Check out the spider first before you call the man who can could save you a few bob. If your dish is at ground level then buy yourself a can of air --the sort used to blow the dust from computers -- be careful though you dont want to damage your LNB thingy. You blow the air just where the cables go into the silver lnb. If dish is on the roof Tough get the man that can :lol: Marj :wink:

I used to use a feather duster to tickle my LNB. Although we used to get interference at a regular time each evening, the guy who installed our dish used to tell me it was a spider. It was a spider with regular habits then. :roll:

In the end we tried Piglet's man who can and got a better response so we used him again when we moved to Narnia.

Marj, you can have it. We don't seem to get the same calliber of spider up in Narnia that we did in Emba. :lol:

Brian and Steph - the man that can is called John and his number is 99755413. At least I think it is. I don't have my specs to hand but it looks right.

Our T V interference starts about 6.15 and can go on until 9pm - it sounds like Colin Crompton on the 'Wheeltappers and Shunters Club'!! :wink: :wink:
Had Demitronics here for a 'Tweek' - didn't help - only get BBC, Channel 5 and ITV 2 + 1 - but interference still comes every night - so annoying!! :cry: :cry: Will have to give John a ring, then. Where does he come from?

Hi Ruth

John's a freelance sat man. He did a great job on mine to retune it using new tripod and lnb . Because the dish was getting hit by wind gusts and going out he tune he also welded up the trapeze.

John lives in Emba, Ruth. But he comes up to sort us out, so I am sure he would come and see you and Alastair.

We found him to be knowledgeable.

Yippee!! John and Ray came just now and sorted our Satellite Dish and we now have many more channels [ instead of just 4] and there is no interference!!!! Hurrah!! What a happy bunny I am now. Wish I had known about them a long time ago and I wouldn't have had all the aggro and frustration the past few months. Thanks Verity et al for putting us in touch with them. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
