When I was over in the East I saw herds of cows. They were black and white ones - ? dairy cows? Why do they have black and white cows over there and brown ones over this side? Verity. |

black and white are called British Friesians = milking cows , they give a higher yield of milk than any other cow . brown cows could one of many breads, but more than likley herefords = breed of beef cattle , better for beef than milk though not the best for better beef you would more than likely want an aberdeen angus .. I studied at collage to become a farmer , but it was to dam cold in the winter, so gave up .. |

I never studied to be a Farmer, but do not Friesian cattle originate fron Holland [ Friesland ] and do not the Black and White Canadian Holstien, beloved of British farmers, not give much more milk, as they are much bigger. I think that the 'Black Angus ' of the best steaks in the world fame also comes in a fetching colour of brown Alastair |
