Giving you all an update on what I did yesterday being bank holiday.

On the spur of the moment we decided to go for a ride and take the dogs with us. Well we ended up in Polis for a short time - it was windy and I looked like I had put my fingers in the electric socket - well the hair anyway. Then went up to Argaka and had a lovely picnic. Will post some photos when I get more time - although most of them are of the dogs who thoroughly enjoyed themselves and came home completely whacked out. In fact Candy did not move for two hours after we came home since she hadn't slept at all all day not even in the car.

I know it might not sound much but the simple things in life are great. :celeb2

Glad you had such a nice day Trish. And at least you can afford to put petrol in the car in Cyprus.

Trish

Sounds a lovely, relaxing day - just what you needed after all your recent stresses. It was a bit breezy though, wasn't it?

A bit windy, Jean? We bought a thermal pool cover and as Phil had the day off we decided to put it on the pool. It has to sit on the pool for around three days before you cut it to size.

Well, it is amazing that you didn't see us flying over the Akamas, Mary Poppins style. The wind got under it and almost pulled me into the pool. :manic

It is now sitting on top of the water weighed down with ladders, planks and anything else we could get our hands on to stop it flying away. We are hoping that the winds will have died down by the weekend and that it will be dry so we can cut the cover to size without taking off.

We decided to do something similar to Trish - shoved the dog in the car and took off to explore the villages on the road that runs from accross the road from the village up to Trodos - we ended up going all the way up - stopping to let the dog have a run where it was lovely and warm though windy - the boys went on ahead - which was just as well as they ran into a whip snake. It was a great day - but we didn't last long at the top - it was freezing! It was intersting to be in two Mandrias in one day - sounds like a song tittle.

We've finally done something on our days out list :clapping

Oh yeah Verity,

I forgot to point that part out too you

Those thermal covers aren't much good in windy area's, so you might have to buy some weights to hold it in place, or you could find it in the village the next day

Thats one of the reason we don't use the Solar Sun Rings I was going to sell :D :D

I think it will be fine once it is cut to size, Pete. It is just that there is so much of the darned thing so we have had to anchor it down. Once it settles I am hoping it will be okay. Barry (down the hill) doesn't seem to have a problem.

And it was exceptionally windy. We would have been okay if we had put it down before the winds arrived.
