London Heathrow Christmas Advert

It is the first ever festive advert from Heathrow, where two teddy bears are coming home for Christmas

Have seen most of the Christmas ads now, but the winner is, imo, this year's Waitrose advert, which I saw for the first time last night.

Amazingly well conceived and crafted, with the Christmas connection reinforced throughout. Obviously loads of cgi in the making, but still very realistic and lots of 'feel good' factor about it.

This is the full-length version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtKYdG9r0Pk Go Full Screen.

I thought the Waitrose advert had it...but then the Heathrow advert came on....sorry but not a dry eye in the house...and so pertinent for a lot of expats....oh and I do like the M&S advert as well.

There are a few versions of the sainsbury advert . This one is the gogglebox version , at about 2 minuets in the gogglebox characters are replaced with animated ones .

Funnily enough that's one of the few adverts I positively dislike. Wife does too. If it's been around for nearly 20 years it's possibly about time that one of the World's most iconic brands should employ a top level creative agency to come up with some new ideas.

Perhaps rather bizarrely, I don't like the symbology which suggests that a bottled drink containing all kinds of horrible ingredients and which has changed people's waistlines for the worse over the past 30 years is what Christmas is all about :-(

I agree, for all kinds of reasons. Simple but effective in it's message; but it's also nice to see an advert which unashamedly shows two church leaders from completely differing faiths getting on so well and buying gifts for each other which are so perfectly suited.

Don't we owe the jolly red dressed Santa to coca cola ? ;)

"Coca-Cola's involvement kicks in in the early 1930s when Swedish artist Haddon Sundblom started drawing ads for Coke featuring a fat Santa in a red coat trimmed with fur and secured with a large belt. "

And they have made a lot of other great Christmas adverts .

Appropos of nothing really, but a can of Coke contains the equivalent of 7 teaspoons of sugar.

This equates to the recommended daily sugar allowance for an 11 year old child.

If only it were 7 teaspoons Jacs. This video puts it into perspective: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZqbxhI6eBU

In times past, when we visited the states regularly, we were horrified to find 'high fructose corn syrup' put into almost every type of food.

Drinking so much Coke is probably why Santa is so fat and looks like he has a heart condition.

If you were hoping for a visit from Santa this year, it might be as well to have made this comment AFTER Christmas - not before
