Can anyone recommend a way of getting rid of a tree stump from a tree that has been recently chopped down. Someone said drill lots of holes and put petrol or mr muscle down.
Some also said Rock Salt, so can anyone tell me where I can buy rock salt.
Thank you.

I would wait when it will dry out and termites would make it weak, then remove (that's what happen with many stumps what I discovered after getting the property).

Hi, why don't you hire a local Cypriot to do this for you.

Lots of things to bear in mind.

What kind of tree
How big

Where it is located

Etc, etc.

I would consult with the person who cut it down.

How big is it? Why not sculpt it into a garden feature.

Or just start digging.

When I saw the title I thought it was about constipation.

To use a method with a [any kind] salt, you'll need drill a lot of holes 10-20mm, put a salt in there, water it, then cover by plastic sheet for one year (!).

Don't forget that whatever chemical (including salt) you put into/around the stump, may well leach out into the surrounding soil....

We had a palm tree killed by the dreaded palm weevil, leaving us with a stump that was not in an area easy for a twin cab to pull it out. So we simply left it to continue rotting/be consumed by the palm weevil grubs and we now have (12 months or so later) a ground level stump that is gradually disappearing. If you can't wait for nature to take its course, then you may have to employ somebody to dig it out and reinstate the area afterwards.

Instead of salt .... a little 32% Hydrochloric Acid works a treat.
However, precautions need to be followed, as it is quite hazardous to use ... and protect the area from access by pets !
Also, nothing will grow there for a while afterwards.
Kill or cure .... but take care !
