Our son is visiting Fetye in Turkey in August and would like us to ‘pop-over’ for a visit, has anyone every managed to do this or can point me in the right direction?

I know people who have flew from the North, check google, book flights from Ercan, you can drive there and leave the car at the airport carpark or get to Nicosia, go across the crossing and get a taxi to the airport.

Fly to Antalya and hire a car, automatic as they drive on the right buy your excess insurance from Top Quotes, quicker and cheaper, one hour flight, and 208 km road trip; to get to Dalman you have to go via Istanbul about 9 hours and then 48 km road trip. Park your car at Ercan, fly with Pegasus and when going through immigration at Ercan ask them not to stamp you passport as it is an illegal exit port according to our hosts in the south, on the way back they will give you a slip of paper saying TRNC visa. You will need a visa for Turkey do it online at the government site and it costs 20 US dollars, beware there are some sites that try it on. The visa lasts 90 days and you just print it out from your computer. Have a good trip.

Thank you, our son is hiring a car and we didn’t want him really to drive that distance to pick us up but we have been given an option of using a ferry, we may look at that via Rhodes. We have been to Turkey before so know all about the visa situation. I am amazed that there is no direct flights though between Ercan and Dalman

You can of course fly from Ercan to Istanbul and then from there to Dalman.
