Every time I see it it doesn't mean a bank to me but British oxygen company. I had a contract with them to supply my oxygen and acetylene bottles.
I made this a separate thread as I promised MAD not to go off thread :woohoo

BOC is British Oxygen Company, but BoC is Bank of Cyprus.

Only a subtle difference, but there you go!
