Does anyone know.

yesterday my pensioner friend who lives in upper Peyia was upset at new building works near where he lives, I know he is getting a bit dotty but is there any truth in what he told me.

If you go up past the Peyia Primary school, the road winds up past the holiday flats, it then goes on up further still, apparently there have been bulldozers and diggers removing part of the mountain creating a new roads for what is going to be several villas.

From memory I thought this area was listed and could not be build upon.

Any truth?

I have read a few weeks ago about this happening

And people have been contacting the mayor to ask what is going on

Not sure of the outcome

But yes infrastructure has been going in

If it’s the same land as in the pictures, Linda Leblanc from the Pegeia Coalition of Independents reported this “News update: I spoke with Mayor & Chief Engineer this morning. Chief Engineer visited the site last week & stopped the work. Please note that this is a residential building zone @30% density. At the moment, there is no application for building but it is likely there will be, some day, but probably not imminent.”

There was also a suggestion that it was the ground work for this project:- ZERO-PLUS project settlement in Peyia, Cyprus

Hi Dave, Just rang Paul and he said that there is no work going on today so obviously they have stopped, what he did say is there was lots of dust and the vegetation has been ruined and now an eye sore.

I have tried to get a decent screen shot of where it is, if you look at the photo on the left is a circle which is Peyia primary school, on the right is a circle highlighting Ocean Breeze holiday villa, it next to that.
