I love the sunrise photo. Watching the sunrise is one of my favourite parts of the day, and I see that view when I am driving to work most days. It all depends on what time I am travelling, but in the summer I catch it rising over the mountains and it is magical. Verity. |

FAO : Admin - there is a piece of software called "Coppermine" which can be integrated with phpBB2 to give one login per user, but give each user access to a central gallery and its easy to upload pictures and the best things is the admin set the final dimensions of the photo so user uploads 8mega pixel and it is converted after upload to your chosen resolution so save on site disc space! |

This shot was taken in 1967 at the 'Royal Oak' on the way from Limassol to Troodos, centre shot is my Wife Val (Mayflower), the two guys are fellow bandsmen from the regimental band. I don't know if the Royal Oak is still there it sure brings back memories though; it was a favourite watering hole on the way to Troodos. |

When I revealed that we were going to move to Narnia I was told by one or two people who have been on the island for a while that the spiders up here are huge and prolific, and that there will be lots of snakes. What did they know? Not a lot, as it turns out. So far, in the 12 months we have been here, we have seen one baby snake on our drive, and NO tarantulas. In Emba I thought I was in tarantula hell. Seems like Sea Caves is snake hell. I suppose that if we keep building on their natural habitat it will take them a while to figure out where else to go. Maybe they are hoping that if they hang around they will scare the humans off and be able to reclaim their land. Verity. |

Am I glad I read this as I thought it wasn't warm enough for the snakes to be out yet and have let the dogs go in the long grass - that's it no more. |

I am glad to hear about the lack of wildlife in Narnia Verity - I was told the same thing. Snakes are my bete noir, but I am pretty bad with spiders too. Can't handle the big house spiders here so I think I would completely freak if I saw a tarantula. |

Well Verity herself did say you could put the picture up, as long as you let her know by changing the original subject to say 'Few More Pics - Including Spiders' That way Verity, who is 'Arachnophobic' will know the post contains pictures of spiders But if you're a kind fellow, you'll not put them up |

Thank you Pete and Twosox. I am serious about my phobia, so any warning of impending tarantula photos would be appreciated. I wish I could get over it. My son had a tarantula called Marilyn and it lived in his bedroom - in a vivarium. You would think that would have helped, wouldn't you? I just kept out of his bedroom. Verity. |
