Matt Hancock has just announced in parliament the stricter border measures being taken. Any UK resident arriving indirectly from the "red" countries will have to quarantine in a Hotel at a cost of £1700 for 10 days! They will need to have had a negative test 72 hours prior to flight, will have to complete the Passenger location form and also have a further test at 2 days and another one at 7 days I think. They cannot fly directly from these red countries so the passenger locator form will need to show all aspects of their journey. Anyone making false declarations can face a prison sentence of 10 years!! As far as I am aware isolation also applies to anyone entering the UK from anywhere in the World,including Europe, although not in these quarantine Hotels. They too must have a negative test taken 72 hours prior to flight, they will also require two more tests on arrival during the isolation period, will be checked and again anyone found providing false information will also be subject to a sentence of 10 years in prison. I fully support these measures and hope that this will finally enable us to achieve some sense of normality in the months ahead/ |

Scotland have tightened it even further Everyone arriving in Scotland on an international flight from next Monday will have to quarantine in a hotel for 10 days. The Scottish government said it would be "block booking" 1,300 rooms at six hotels near the country's airports. Let us all hope that these measures work ...to stop the variants from getting into the uk For me ...better late than never 12 months ago...no one would have accepted this happening in the uk Take care and stay warm and safe |
