I was one of the unfortunate ones who experienced unpleasant side effects from my first covid jab so was a tad apprehensive yesterday when called for my second jab but have to say it was a breeze - not even a sore arm so to anyone who might be concerned it has certainly been fine for me - now to give it a couple of weeks and hopefully will feel safer!

poppytim what unpleasant side effects did you suffer ?

The side effects were a very bad headache lasting two days,dizziness and fatigue lasting a few days and muscle ache and a very hot and red arm at the injection site which lasted about a week. I did wonder if it could have been due to my penicillin allergy but no one seems to know however not so bad that it stopped me getting my second jab and as I said no problems at all not even a sore arm!

When I had my first vaccination 3 weeks ago ...
I spoke to the dr there at the vaccination Centre about the side effects of friends

He said that side effects are a good sign...it means that the vaccine is good and is working and that your immune response is building up anti bodies, he was pleased to hear about the mild side effects my friends had experienced

He reminded me of when we vaccinate babies and how we are warned that the baby will be offside for a couple of days after their vaccinations as they built up their immune responses.... he said as an adult...our bodies where behaving exactly the same

As a person who uses epi pens...I was a bit concerned about possible Anaphylaxis....but it never happened ....and I had no heavy side effects at all.
I had a slight headache, muscle ache, tiredness and a bit of a fuzzy head the day after, which cleared by tea time and no sore arm at all

I am looking forwards to my second vaccination.

Well, that's Pfizer vaccine number one done today with no side effects thus far.

Felt sorry for the older gentleman who arrived wearing a long sleeved jumper and was made to strip to the waist and stand there in front of the rest of us!
