Hello…my name is Ian and I am a qualified and registered independent Will Writer.
Did you know that Cyprus Law has FIXED HEIRSHIP whereby when one dies half of your Estate goes automatically to your children, one quarter to your spouse and the final quarter in accordance with your wishes.
Whilst UK was in the EU you could have changed this however Post Brexit, this facility is no longer available to UK Nationals.
If you have no Cyprus Will or a Will prior to 2015 it is crucial you change this as soon as possible.
As a member of the “Society of Will Writers” I write wills to cover Cyprus and the UK but in separate wills. This is to assist the Probate process. I provide a quick and efficient service consisting of an initial meeting, which is free, to discuss your initial thoughts and wishes. Prior to that meeting it is important to carefully consider each part of your Will.
Who will be your prime Executor and who would you appoint as a substitute, if your first choice is unable to execute your estate?
Completely unlike the UK, Cyprus has no concept of Jointly Owned property. Each party owns half of any freehold property meaning it does not pass automatically to the Survivor on death as in the UK. It means Probate is necessary for any property owner hence compulsory Legal fees which would be completely avoided in the UK.
Property. House/s, cars etc. Are these to be left to your children, family, friends or should they be sold and the proceeds distributed accordingly?
Gifts and bequests. Who gets what? For example, if your spouse has a lot of jewellery and it is to be distributed to several people, photograph and reference each piece. This will assist your executor in distribution. Do you have a pet? Who would you give that to? If an animal sanctuary then you will need to leave the charity some funding.
If you have any questions or would like an initial meeting just email me at

It might take a short time for me to reply here since this ‘PM’ system is new to me
