Adding to the terrible fires of Kamares and Akoursos

We now have the worst fire here in Cyprus in memory
We send our love and prayers to all affected
And hope that this latest huge fire between Larnaca and Limassol
Is put out completely as soon as these brave fire fighters and service men and women can
The high winds today will not be helping

Water Planes and assistance arriving from Greece, Italy and Israel

Four dead, 11 planes in the air and they still don't have it under control and the winds are picking up.

All seemingly because one man wanted to burn some stubble!

Terrible, terrible day.

Nicos from Seilis vegetable shop has just come back from taking over water and supplies for the firemen, women and all helpers

And he has said that the fires are out! ...well done Seilis for collecting and driving over with supplies ...
No more supplies are needed now ...they have enough ...communities have rallied from all over to help

Thank goodness the fires are out!

Godbless these very brave men and women :clap :clap :clap

Another lady Marina and her husband Ahmed ...have been out all day driving around with water and food for any animals that could be lost and injured ....their pictures show terrible devastation ...and sadly not one animal or bird alive anywhere

Cyprus vetenary services are offering free care to all animals that have been injured in the fires

Not sure yet what help the families will need who have all lost their entire homes....as they are all going to need some where to stay, clothes, household goods etc etc etc

Still a lot to sort out and help with

Stay safe all

According to the latest story in the Cyprus Mail, the fire was finally brought under control at around 8 o'clock this morning, but is not completely out as there as still more flare ups occurring.

Looks like it is nearly sorted!
