Not surprised, it's the law now! Same procedure in place at the Mall, hospitals, Alpha Mega, Papantoniou....! Either produce your safe pass or proof of vaccination or a negative Rapid Test. |

Good for them! I haven't been into Phillippos for a very long time, mainly as a result of the comments on here. That said I had to go to Nicosia yesterday and I am still amazed at the number people who won't wear masks. Walking along a narrow pavement I got tangled up trying to pass a large group of Israeli tourists, not one of whom was wearing a mask. I asked them to put masks on and they all shouted that they didn't have to. Told them they were wrong but they still wouldn't wear them. OH went to the Mall in Paphos this morning and queued up for a rapid test while he was there. There was a girl/woman (early 20s) in front of him who wasn't wearing a mask. As they were in a queue he asked her to put a mask on and her response was that she had been wearing a mask all morning and needed to breathe. He explained that it was a queue for people to be tested to see if anyone had covid, so it was doubly important that she wore the mask and she just laughed at him. In the end he got one of the testers to tell her! There were also a number of people who, once they got into the Mall, just took their masks off. Most of them seemed to be tourists. What chance have we got with so many idiots about the place? |

This will probably get me in trouble...however....Over the course of today and this evening, I have found that the worst offenders for not wearing masks are Russian, closely followed (I’m sorry to say) old /older English ex-pats and of those, probably about 80% women I actually saw one woman with her hand over her mouth and said that was her mask |

My daughter, son in law and small grandson arrive on Saturday We have gone over in detail what they will need for Safe Pass when out And mask wearing and protocols They have said that in their town in the Uk ...when out shopping yesterday Most people out wearing masks...very few have stopped....so they know the protocols here! Hands, face, space , keep to ventilated places They are both doubly vaccinated and have stayed to uk protocols and have only a small family around them bubble ...they are bringing lateral flow test kits with them ...to keep checking that they are healthy when here! Are mask wearing and Safe Pass instructions etc not written into the Flight Pass ...that all people flying here need to fill in? |

The Cypriots I know or am related to always say HEALTH is more important than WEALTH, but honestly the extra costs of so many people being sick is far higher than has been generated by bringing tourists in! |

Absolutely agree ...health is far better than wealth ...but for those businesses struggling with rents to pay ...the amount who have said to me that they cannot wait for the Brits to arrive to bring in the money are a lot...some desperate businesses out there needing income ...a lot have gone to the wall. |

I made a rare visit to the Mall this morning and was inside from approx 0945 - 1045 and every person was wearing a mask properly, keeping a good distance from everyone else and showing SafePass documentation when requested. |
