The ‘Scottish’ schools ‘October week’ holiday is from Fri 8 till Mon 17th
Our friend, a school teacher, was looking to come out for the week and was shocked to see the HUGE ‘school holiday’ RIP OFF by Easyjet :tickedoff :banghead

Easyjet
Edinburgh to Paphos
Out on Sat 9 Oct
Return Sat 16 £812

If she flew to Luton it would be

Fri 8 Oct Glasgow to Luton £28.99
Sat 9 Luton to Paphos £56.99

Sat 16 Paphos to Luton £81.99
Sun 17 Luton to Glasgow £32.99 Total £200.96

It's the simple laws of business - you charge the fee that you think the market can stand, as simple as that.

If the customer thinks it's too expensive, they have the choice to walk away and take their business elsewhere.

Airlines use a fairly simple business model.

When they first release flights, prices are relatively cheap. As tickets sell and available seats become more limited, prices go up. If you book nearer to departure time, especially around holiday times, prices will be expensive.

My guess is that the flights from England have more availability, hence the cheaper prices.

As an aside, I have never found Easyjet to be cheap, especially if you need to take luggage. Scheduled flights always work out cheaper for me.
