I'm sure that since the UK left the EU Blue Badges (for disabled parking) issued THERE are no longer valid HERE, perhaps it'd be a good idea if people applied for one here to avoid any parking tickets, fines etc.

Another loud mouthed elderly Brit using vile and abusive language this morning when asked if he'd be parked where he was for long as he was blocking us in claimed he had a badge, his wife was disabled and we could basically go forth and multiply....as well as go and spend a penny,,,honestly the language coming out him was obscene...!! His badge was also an old UK one....

Unfortunately that's twice in a week I've been subjected to some form of abuse over a disabled parking space - what is it with people? Is there something in the air apart from dust?

Unfortunately there are a large number of extremely rude people with a warped sense of entitlement here, mostly ex-pats.
Many have no respect for others and are completely self centred and selfish...when confronted they can only resort to being rude as a defence.

Perhaps worth checking with the High Commission in Nicosia in the absence of any information on other official sites.

UK tourists can use the UK Blue Badge in Cyprus according to this link:

There is no need for bad language and aggression ...wether a blue badge holder or not
Common decency and respect is called for
and I agree with MAD ...some of the worst perpetrators are uk expats of a certain age
Who appear to have left their decency and manners back in the uk at the airport!

Totally agree - they seem to think they're 'entitled'. My husband and i were bombarded by foul, abusive & racist language yesterday! Thank God the baby's still too young to ask what certain words mean....

Manners maketh man apparently and at least respect the country you're living in and the people it belongs to!

Must say I wouldn't know a UK badge from a Cyprus one , but even if the badge was issued in UK then I would honour it in Cyprus because I don't suppose they left their disability in the UK and became able bodied when they got here.

Silly comment and it's not the point, they need to prove they're disabled anywhere they use a badge but like I said the UK ones aren't valid here due to the UK leaving the EU.

The large UK stamp and English writing on the front would give it away - Cypriot ones are in Greek!

But that is why disabled badges are issued. I agree entirely that there is no need to bad language, but if someone has been issued with a blue badge then it is unreasonable for them to be refused use of disabled parking spaces. My neighbour uses there Cyprus issued badge when they travel to the UK without any issues (so far).
