The labour ministry said on Friday that all general stores should remain closed on Sunday, May 1. The law states, the ministry said, that the shops – such as supermarkets, shopping malls and so on – must close on Sunday but that the stores that are allowed to operate must compensate their staff on a 1:2 basis per hour worked. Malls will be open but only the coffee shops and restaurants within them will be allowed to operate. |
