Anyone else feel Amazon and getting crazy with their delivery charges?

How can it be nearly £50 to deliver a £40 item from Amazon Germany or Amazon UK.... I could get it a one way seat on easyjet from any UK airport to Paphos for under £30 :doh

I agree it's shocking, a real deterrent! Some people here have used Amazon Spain successfully, or EShopWeDrop which involves delivery to their UK depot then transport here pretty quickly and it's far cheaper than the Shamazon charges!

Recently bought a phone case from Amazon.de and the shipping was just over €5.

A couple of days ago I bought some computer equipment and a couple of storage bits, also from Amazon.de. Delivery is €35, but that is courier delivery for a box that is likely to be at least 2' x 2' x 2'.

For me those costs seem pretty reasonable. What are the items that you bought that cost so much?

I never buy from Amazon UK these days as you get screwed on VAT and import duty.

Your post shows similar shipping costs from Germany and UK, but without knowing what the item is, it is difficult to say whether the shipping cost is high or not.

I do not not wish to pry and am not asking you to reveal and more information, but if it is a pen then yes, it's expensive, but of it is a fridge or a washing machine, it's a pretty good price, although I don't think I would be willing to wait until December 26 for delivery from the UK!

I am in agreement with you MAD

Amazon de postal charges have become a complete rip off

Even small items are asking 20 plus euros postage ...with no choices of cheaper delivery modes

And most items bought are now made in China

We no longer buy from Amazon de ....as we refuse to pay their ridiculous postage charges
