Do you believe the UK people should be providing Depleted Uranium ammunition for the Ukrainian forces to use and abandon following with the promise that they will NOT clean up the locations affected by it? |

I have just read a number of atricles regarding depleted uranium and its effects ! It is very dense and so makes projectiles much heavier and thus better penetration, no mention was made as to expolding the DU and its effects . Unexploded DU has a lower radiation that the backgroud radiation of uranium ore , so possibly radiation not a major concern . The uranium isotopes are very toxic towards humans and so after an explosion one would expect the DU to fragment and maybe turn to dust, whilst radiation may not be a concern , toxic contamiation of wounds and the surounding countryside is a big problem ! Whilst i completely disagree with Putin and his policies i would not wish this toxic waste on eithrer Russia or Ukraine or the soldiers. |
