Friend of mine wants to rent a car in the uk BUT he only has a Bank of Cyprus debt card, he has no credit card is there any where that would rent him a car ? |

Indigo car rental is a brokerage who used to deal with that type. I have rented in the UK using a debit card only with Enterprise, Europcar within the last 2 years in UK and Europe using only debit cards and cash without any issues. I also use an annual excess protector. |

I always use Europcar and their website mentions taking debit cards, but I would check as, from memory, they may specify UK debit cards only. As an aside, getting a credit card is fairly straightforward as all the banks seem to want (BoC included) is an amount of money equal to the credit limit held on a side account and they issue the card. It makes hiring a car easier and also gives you additional protection over and above using a debit card. |
