Paphos People

I have not been to karavella since the rebuild, i want to leave the car there all day, well say 6 hours ? take intercity bus to Ikea and Leyroy merlin. i assume i will have to pay parking with the new smart system, can i do it with an old nokia and how much might it cost please ?

Not used it but I would be in the same situation ie using the SMS system.
Sorry no idea of length of time or cost. I understand there is an additional fee for using the SMS system by your phone company.
Just make sure you have enough credit on your phone if you are using a pay as you go scheme rather than on a contract.

You send a message to number 9191 giving the parking lot number where you are parked. You get a confirmation and also another message when your parking time is nearly finished.

Thankyou Alexxis. after 90minutes of frustration reading long, tedious and badly organised help pages i failed to find any further infomation. regarding charges the smart parking page directs you to paphos municipality and they in turn direct you back to smart parking, so no luck there. then just when i was about to give up a post from paphos life 11/2022 popped up and where he found the information i dont know but all was revealed , so
zone a = 1e 2hrs
zone b = 1e 3hrs
zone c = 1e 30mins
zone d = 1e 1hr
zone e = free
Karavella carpark is in zone a
i still dont know what happens after 2 hrs, do i have to re register the parking every 2hrs or do i message when i leave and will be charged in multiples of 2 hrs ?
clearly im not smart enough to park in paphos !
and they rekon this is easier than parking meters !
PS i downloaded the app onto my tablet but it keeps crashing , i guess the app doesnt support android 7.1.1

Also on Mapcarta itshows Karavella on the map and a picture labelled karavella which is actually the carpark behind the old market, the one with the elevator to access it .

For some time now the intercity buses leave from the carpark below the market.

From what I have read just before your time expires you get the option to extend it - so that means you would have to keep doing the same procedure every two hours.

There is an area of rough ground for parking next to the market car park near where the buses park up before moving to the area where they start/end their journey.

Seems i will go to both sites and check out whats happening . I had not considered intercity coaches going from the market site !

The phone number for information about Intercity buses is 8000 77 89.

I went on a local bus route from the Market about 3 weeks ago.
There is one office (portacabin) for information about local routes and another for Intercity routes. You pay for the ticket on the bus.
