My car was a dark , drab greyish hint of blue colour , it looked naf when it left the production line and now the sun has destroyed the laquer too it looked a real dump . The registration document shows colour as blue :sunny , so i bought 2 tins of vitrex royal blue enamel paint , thinner and a paint brush !
I hand painted it , not hand painted a car before, bet not many here have ! Far from perfect finish but in the sun its a nice royal blue , not loud though, a nice rich colour . Bought new no. Plates at a cost of €30 from Similidies. Need to paint lower part of sills black as it is practical . Will spray wheels i think silver , oem wheels are cream or silver .
I have had some sucess in sand casting brass , so was going to try sand casting a brass " Toyota " , " corolla " and " XL" boot lid badges, hmm dont hold your breath .
Hear endeth the car maintenance lesson , squeak!

Cars can be brought up to look like new, especially if taken to a good, professional, auto-sprayer. We stripped the faded company vinyl 'wrap' from our daughter's car 6 months ago and had the whole car re-sprayed. Also had the alloys sprayed silver and had many other shabby components replaced at the same time.

Voila! A new looking car. And for much less than buying or leasing a new, or near-new car. Or suffering depreciation on a new car.

In Chloraka the barber has an x? Bmw wrapped in a shinney bronze skin , i was amazed that close up the finish is surprisingly poor , makes me feel better about my paint job . Years ago some one had a big suv with a chrome appearance finish , that was quite memorable

There's a top-notch guy in G'pou, who can make a car wrap look better than paint. His work is so good he specialises in top-of-the-range Mercs and Beamers. Quite what advantage a wrap has over paint I'm not sure.
