I understand the rules re swimming pools but wonder what is the reality at the moment before we return.ours is a small complex and the pool is gated and locked for residents only. |

The trials and trauma Paphos communal pools go through do not seem to be replicated in any other town in Cyprus. I speak from experience as pool safety is what our company does. Not sure why this should be. None of it makes sense of course, though a few communal pools have got us to install a safety fence around their pool to show some measure of compliance. One large communal pool in Paphos does actually have a lifeguard on duty for much of the week. But with over 100 residential units, they can better afford this than smaller associations. I wish I could offer some help and guidance, but sadly I can't. It is totally random and pot luck whether you are picked on by your local municipality. But if you are, it's a slippery slope downhill from there with, ultimately, loss of your pool facilities. |

And to the wonderful municipal authorities of Paphos and Pegeia who have created even greater levels of confusion and not helped the matter at all. In fact they have made the whole issue much worse. Remember when casting your votes if tourism dries up then so will much of this plastic prosperity of Paphos (and Cyprus). |
