I slowly rose to consciousness because something was knocking every now and then. I strained my ears to familiarise myself with the sound. At first I thought it was logs being knocked together and thought that the cat was climbing over them. But then it suddenly dawned on me what the noise was. It was the sound of gunfire over the Akamas. It gradually came closer and got more intense.

The hunters were out there before light this morning. It sounded just like one of those gun battles in a western adventure film. Lord only knows what is left to shoot at, but it got me out of my bed as it is impossible to sleep through the noise.

Just for a change there was no work this morning, on the building site opposite, so no fork lift truck reverse signal alarm at 6.45 am, no throwing of scaffolding and no plaster spraying machine that badly needs greasing, so nothing to wake us until at 9.00am :) I was beginning to forget how quiet the mornings here can be. Only three more months to completion :?

All your builders must have decided to have a hunting day out over the Akamas, KG. They woke me up instead.

I was woken by the sound of my other half playing ball with the puppy upstairs, listening to her tiny feet scapering across the tiled floor, only to bring the ball back to the missus :)

Then the phone went, so I thought I'd better get up & make sure everything was running smoothly on PaphosPeople.

My son jumping on the bed and shouting "papa" "cars" and grabbing a box of Lighting McQueen and friends toys followed by 2 hours building various types of pending immediate demolition churchs with wooden building bricks ... could be worse :)

The same thing that wakes me up every morning - my girls. If it is past 7.00am they kindly lick my eyes until I waken up so I am never up after 7.10am - I know late for some of you people who get up at the crack of dawn.

What got me up this morning? The need for a cup of tea! Desparation I am afraid. It was unusual too as it's usually the dog that wakes us up by licking any bit of flesh that is not buried in the quilt. But this morning he was sunbathing on a sunbed on the roof garden!
The minute he realised I was up he came down to greet me and get his morning markie!

But what a beautiful morning it is or was!

Tiggy

Tricia

That's exactly what I did this morning - wee, tea then PP

I feel as if I'm almost there when I chat to everyone on here - I love it. My hubby's favourite words at the moment are 'are you on that laptop again ?! ' :D

This is the reason why we started this forum, just to see members happy :D
Its a great feeling knowing that we're able to please members, especially those members that aren't here (yet) to enjoy Cyprus themselves :!: but you're time will come & then you will be doing the same for other future members thinking about the move over here... its a ongoing story, which I'm glad to be a small part of :!:

Nice quiet MUSTER ALARM nobody sleeps through that, fortunately just testing the Muster and Abandon Platform System.

Brings you awake in no time, orientation a bit difficult after that.

Hi Tricia

Fancy seeing you here :D

Believe it or not I haven't been on here all day - been out house hunting today. We are downsizing which is phase one of our plan to put the finances in place for the move over in a few years. Got a buyer for ours but they still need a buyer for theirs so nothing definate yet but fingers crossed

Oh that reminds me of my military time, getting woken up at god knows what time, just so they can have you running around in your undies in the freezing cold

I'm sure they just did it for fun, just to see who was wearing what to bed

Hope all goes well.stressful but exciting but a one step closer to the sun.One good thing about being in Man is not a bad choice of flights. We have traveled down from scotland a few times to get a better price and have saved even after petrol& overnight stay.
Got flyglobe span tis summer from Edinburgh so we shall see.
The best flight will be one way :D

Hi Tricia

Yep we do ok with flights and only live a 10 minute drive from the airport as well. Flying over with Easyjet in May - not too sure what they will be like but only one way to find out !

Definately Tricia - We just treat the planes like buses, not bothered about meals or movies - quite happy to take a sandwich and my ipod. Just get there the cheapest way possible 8)

Know exactly what you mean Pete, 5 mile boot runs in the dark, just the job to shake of a nights sleep or hangover.

We even took some telegraph poles with us at times.
