Having had a constant interrupted ADSL link for the past two weeks we decided to go to Cyta to complain. As you can imagine we didn't get anywhere. However, we decided to up-grade at home to 1meg from our 500 connection.

We were told that someone would come to change the modem, sure enough we got a call, on Sunday 12noon - can we come now! We said yes and after a bit of confusion he arrived. Then he says, "you don't need modem, old one OK. So I asked if I could have a new one anyway as our is 5 yrs old. 'No problem' he says. Except it didn't work, so he put the old one back and said, Wait for it.... You don't need me, all you do is call 80008080 and ask them to switch the upgrade on.
So my £20 upgrage installation fee consisted of me making a 15 second phone call and loads of overtime for the Cyta guy!

Welcome Andy,

So a long story cut short is, you're now up & running at super fast pace, which is great when it works.. :lol:

We only have 512kbs & sometime it works great, other times I'm sure the hamster is out of breath :roll:

Anyway its great to have you on board & hope you're connection lasts a life time :D

Cyta don't provide a service in our village, so I suppose I can count myself lucky. We have been having some problems of late, but they will be transitory (hopefully) and I can get hold of my provider quite easily.

Cyta seem to spend a lot of time sending engineers out to unnecessary calls. I dread to think how much money they waste.
