Paphos People

I've just found out that the last King of Paphos was called Nicocles.

I believe the port was built during his reign, during the time of Alexander the Great.

This was the time when Paphos was the capital of Cyprus.

Previously, Salamis was the capital of the island.

Does anyone know who the First King of Paphos was???

...and did you know that's where the village of Nikoklia got it's name? Nikoklia is 2 or 3 kms down the B road from Kouklia. Lloyd

.... and were you there at the time!!!


If not its only heresay and circumstantial, Nicoclea cannot be found guilty on such evidence. But without the fort, what other international landmarks would you recognise??
