Hi Alison, Don't think I can advise you on that because it really depends on what you are looking for. I remember when I first took my two boys on holiday abroad at the ages of 10 and 11 and didn't know what to expect or anything as I had never been abroad either. I took them to a hotel and it was hard to track them down. They were entertained all day and had made so many friends that I didn't see them much in the evening either (not sure if it is still like that though) and I only saw them at meal times and to put them to bed. I admit I was dreading it in one way going full board because I had two very fussy kids but in the whole week there was only once that they did not like a meal so can't complain there. I took them on a couple of trips and the guide on one wanted my youngest one back the next week for free as he had been so entertaining - his saddle broke on a donkey but he hung on and on and on. There are so many rental properties here and complexes that most of them are half empty all year round, so if you are looking for something relaxing and the possibility of a private pool without the expense of a villa then go for one of the many apartments on a complex. Although if you search enough you will more than likely find you could get either BB, half or full board at the same cost of flights. The choice is obviously yours and you know your kids better than anyone. My two were hyperactive so it was a blessing that I went to a hotel as I would have been pulling my hair out otherwise by the end of the week. |

HI Alison, I think flight only can be great but you need to do your sums, as the great deals are not always available. However, I believe there can be some really cheap deals from Leeds Bradford now (Jet2.com I think). As Trish says, there are lots of available holiday lets in small complexes but if you want daytime entertainment for the kids, then a package to a hotel or apartment complex might be better. Good luck with the research. |

Packages are far better for entertainment, for both parents and children. One step further is all inclusive holidays, where the kids can help themselves to what they want all day, i.e. drinks etc. without keep bothering mum and dad. Molly |

Think we will go for AI as they will probably cost us a fortune for 2wks we are really looking forward to the visit, we were supposed to be coming out in Nov but Geoff got pneumonia so we had to cancel as he couldn't fly and he has been really ill so we are ready for the break. We are foster carer's so we need to keep the kids close to us as you often can expect the unexpected, we thought a hotel would be the better option (keep em busy) we do usually come out on our own twice a year and would love to make it permanent one day |

Hi Look up Trip Advisor or Holidays Uncovered on Google. Enter and find Cyprus then Paphos. Read about all the different hotels/accomodation then if you see one you want, search for the hotel's website. That will give you the hotel's E Mail address. On Trip Advisor they have the hotel's website and you can book direct via E Mail. I often do this and am going to Skiathos from UK in June and booked direct with hotel. I paid for flights seperate and the hotel said don't send a deposit just pay when you get here. Oh and we'll pick you up at the airport ! Happy days Major Gary. |
