Post subject:  help re shopping

I bought my Mother 2 small ornamrnts in October from a shop on the front near the harbour in Paphos. They were 2 small santa sort of things about 2 inches high with string legs that hang over the fireplace.
She likes them so much that i need to get her some more, anyone know the name or contact of the shop. I may be able to order by phone or e-mail

Thanks PS my mother is 94

JTS - why don't you post a picture and then I am sure one of us will know where to find them and let you know.

Unfortunately down the front is not a nice place to be at present with all the work being done, otherwise I would take a stroll with the dogs and have a look for you.

We went down the front yesterday & you're unable to walk along there anymore from what I could see, as they have started laying tarmac & building strange objects, missus thinks they're toilets, one of each kind (Male, female & Disabled) I think it looks like a concrete archway myself, maybe she'll post the pixs later

Back to the question, what was I saying, oh yeah, so I think all the shops are closed along the sea front at present but don't take my word as gen, I may be wrong (again!)

The concrete 'arch' is supposed to be the replacement for the To Limanaki kiosk that was demolished - but then my informant could have been wrong :(

KG, you could be right but it looks a little too close to the sea wall & not really big enough to house anything really, but I suppse we'll see when its finished

The old kiosk was tiny - but had a large veranda all round that made it appear much larger. It's the bit on the 'roof' that I don't get. That's a hell of a substantial support for a Coca Cola ad. ;)

Yeah it just doesn't stand out to be another kiosk in my eyes... :?

Also while we were down there, we saw a cargo/tanker ship out about 500 yards which looked like it was being towed into Limassol as it was listing to one side, I took a pix but was too far out to see what was wrong, but from the angle of the ship, you coud see the deck surface, so no idea what was wrong with it, maybe incorect balast maybe
