How the give you cooling system a DIY check.
From Cold
1,Remove radiator cap , Check water level should be visible , check how clean water is should not be brown or have oil in. Add anti freeze/ inhibitor.
2,Look at the cap make sure rubber is not split and push the middle make sure it moves on spring.
3, Look at the radiator , there are fins and zig zag heat sink should be in good condition without gaps or dark stains. The top pat or the rad is plastic check for cracks and singes of water lose.
4, Look at rubber hoses for singes of water lose are furry deposits where the meet metal pipes.
Start the car. ( be careful under engine bay when car running if not sure bring to us. )
5, While car getting warm check the hoses to make sure all are at same temperature.
6, Put heater on inside car will confirm circulation and thermostat working.
7, While watching the car wait for electric fan to kick in should be a half way on temp gauge.
8, if car getting hot on the road turn off a/c and put heater on full in hot position.
