I am looking for a flywheel for a 2002 combo c 1.7 isuzu engine. Must check to see if it is a normal flywheel or a dual mass type.

Isuzu should be easier to find than just limiting it to Vauxhall/Opel.
Being Japanese they make diesels for a lot of Jap cars also. It may be worth finding out what your engine model is and what other makes/models it is fitted into.

wow honda fitting isuzu engines, they must be good then.
I am stripping out the gearbox as and when I have time, it wont be til the fly wheel comes off will I know whether I need just a ring gear or complete clutch/ flywheel assy, seems now that replacing whole assemblies costing hundreds euros is the norm. well a new flywheel assy just isnt going to happen, simply I dont have the money.
This 2002 combo is the newist vehicle I have owned and the cost of parts just isnt realistic.
I reconed the alternator a few months back as a part exchange non oem unit was over 180 euro.

To think I was planning to get rid of my old corolla . I bought my 1987 corolla when it was 18 years old and did over 250,000 km , I retired it when the clock reached 350,000 km, bought my 92 corolla 3 years ago, it needed much TLC and thanks to 1987 one there was a free supply of parts. These 2 Toyotas are the best cars I have ever owned and outshine all my other cars on reliability, cost to maintain and easy of repair.
OK, zero street cred but that is not important as a car to me is a tool and not jewellery.

Honda used the Isuzu engine during the 2002-2005 period to prove the viability of diesel in the salon cars (hatchback in my case) and they were fitted and installed at the Swindon plant. Once proven they developed their own engines and now use those.
Its a great engine, but as you say all parts that are in and linked to the engine are expensive here, if they can be gotten at all.
