People over 60 and other vulnerable groups will be able to get their second Covid booster shot from Tuesday, the health ministry said on Monday.
Fourth jabs will be available for people aged 60 and over, anyone living in care homes and closed structures regardless of age, immunocompromised/immunosuppressed patients regardless of age, and healthcare professionals, as long as they received their third dose at least five months prior.
All will need to show their passport or ID card, vaccination card, and in the case of healthcare professionals, their licence.
Immunocompromised/immunosuppressed patients will be able to get their vaccines at walk-in centres by providing a certificate signed by a specialist doctor in addition to their documents, by booking an appointment through their doctor, or by emailing
4dose@moh.gov.cy.
The ministry clarified that those eligible in this group are those who are in active treatment for solid tumors and blood disorders, those receiving immunosuppressive treatment with a history of solid or hematopoietic organ transplantation, those with hereditary immunodeficiency, those with HIV/AIDS, those with renal impairment undergoing dialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
Walk-in vaccination centres will operate in all districts from Monday to Saturday. They will still offer Pfizer and Moderna vaccines daily, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines every Friday. Novavax vaccines can only be arranged by appointment.
Hours for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are 8am – 3pm.
On Wednesdays they will be open longer, from 8am – 6pm.
On Saturdays they will be open between 8am – 1pm.
