Is there a recommended distance that orange trees should be from other trees or walls etc to aviod root problems.

If trees are planted into purpose made holes in the pavements, are the municipality likely to remove them.

Hi Tanny,
According to Pat Jordan who writes gardening books for Cyprus - "if you are planning an orchard, then Orange Trees should be be planted at least 5 metres apart to allow for growth and give each tree sufficient space to develop"
don't know about planting in Pavements, though.

Tanny you will not have the municipality coming round and digging up you plants out side your property. This practice is a done thing as long as the "hole " isnt more than 4 small flags square. we have 8 conifers down one side of our property as do our neighbours. Marj
