I'm dark, 5'10" and not too scary Diane!
Spoken for though.
But seriously thinking of moving abroad and Cyprus seems as nice a place as any.
Been offered work and house in Dom Rep but think it may be a little too far for mum and dad to visit.
I'll have a look at other threads and see if I can find anything that may be of use.
Thanks for the tip.
Hope you're still enjoying your new life.
Jon

It all seems so long ago now, well worth the stress and tears I had for the month between handing in my notice and moving here. I Love my life here, made some amazing friendships, live in a fantastic villa and the sun shines most of the time...............bliss

Well on Tuesday I have been here a year!!

And what an amazing year it has been.....................I love Cyprus, I have made many good friends, my social life is great! I am just moving into my 3rd villa since arriving but as I have decided not to return to the UK I have now got myself somewhere unfurnished so I can start really building a home. The weather is fab for most of the year, the scenery and beaches are gorgeous.

I have no regrets on moving here, I love my life and the people in it

Its been great meeting those I have already met and looking forward to meeting those that I have yet to meet

Looking forward to year 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot believe it's a year! I actually recall you joining the site and then read with interest about all your anxieties prior to your move. I even remember Jean offering to pick you up when you arrived (and if I recall correctly she didn't even know you - what a nice lady!) ... Anyway, realising how time flies just makes me want to move over even more. I had thought I'd be there before you ... you obviously just decided then took action! I've been dithering for the last couple of weeks about what to do workwise when we arrive - but will look at that aspect when we land!

Our UK property has been on the market 10 weeks now - no viewings :? Might rent it out yet .. ??

Oh well, continue enjoying your "new" life .... good luck with your move.

Julie (in the raining north of England)

Hi Julie, Yeah a year today!!

I remember the anxieties well, some of it feels like yesterday but then it also feels like I've been here forever

Good luck with selling the house and hope to see you over here very soon

Diane xx

Yes, I remember it well. Arriving at Paphos airport to pick up somebody I'd never met, and her twenty million boxes.Got there about five minutes after plane landed, parked up, walked across to the arrivals, just about to walk through the doors when a little voice said "excuse me, are you Jean?" Yes, you were already outside having a fag surrounded by trolleys full of boxes! Had to be the quickest exit from an airport ever.

Along with your sister and her friend we got you all loaded up and off to Seacaves, which was also funny, cos you'd only been there once before, so it was a bit trial and error to find the house, but you remembered it well.

Gosh, a lot has happened over the last 12 months, mostly good, a little bit not so good (hospital and operation), but certainly not dull. And so much more to come, our cruise in November, a summer of partying (I hope), and both moving into new houses.

Here's to the next 12 months :giggle :cheers

Best of luck Diane and Jean with your new homes. I'm arriving next Tues the 15th and on the wind down here in Ireland this week. So looking forward to being there and having a new and exciting life.
