Need some legal advice regarding our road. On our plans the road is marked up as private and once tarmac was laid it was then painted red. I have recently been informed by a friend that if the dustcart collect rubbish from properties in the road, not from a collection point on an adjacent public road, then the road would have been adopted by the municipal authority and ceases to be private. Maintenance of the road then becomes the responsibility of the municipal authority. Perhaps you could confirm the accuracy of the advice given. Thanks
