Can anyone advise if a licence is required to set up mobile haidresser/beauty therapy business. Are there any restrictions on days or hours you are allowed to work. Thanks in advance

Geraldine, I would have to ask you to wait till somelone else comes along who is in that business, however I am aware that to call yourself a beautician or nail therapist etc you often need a certificate of competency (I am unsure if UK ones count).

These state that you can create a full set of decorated nails etc within a set time to a set standard.

Usually it means that the nails must be sufficiently long to prevent the correct use of telephones, keyboards, fax machines any useful impliment and scratch the eyes out....

You're talking about the girls in the banks aren't you? Amazes me - my nails aren't that long, but I do struggle with certain things - especially changing the fiddly little ink cartridges in my Epson printer

Anyway, back on topic, Geraldine I'm not sure if the same laws apply to mobile hairdressers as to the shops, but certainly hairdressers are not allowed to open on Thursdays
