Post subject:  Proof of ownership of property

We have a buyer interested in our house for sale. He has told us that in order to get a loan/mortgage he needs either title deeds which we don't yet have or proof that we own the property.

Any ideas how we can prove that we own the property?

Thanks in advance

Jen

The lawyer you used when you bought the house should have registered you as the owner and also have the contract you signed to buy.I presume you also have all the reciepts for the monies paid to purchase your house. If it was on a complex or bought through a developer then you should ask the developer to cancel your contract with him and draw up a new contract with the new buyers(but it will cost you). The bank should be given his details as he still has ownership of the title deeds unless he has handed them over to the land registry.Ask your lawyer,he should be sorting this out for you.Good luck, hope it all goes through for you.
