the airbag was missing from my van when i bought it secondhand. The light is indicating a fault with the airbag. Is a functioning airbag part of the MOT test here, where one was originally fitted? Yes, yes, i know it's a jolly good idea to have a functioining airbag, but is it actually a legal requirement of the MOT test here? |

The cheapest way round this problem is to remove the lamp from the warning light.... |

You may get through the MOT by removing the bulb, but would your insurance be valid. If you have an accident and the Air Bag should have saved you from injury, I doubt you would be able to claim for your injuries. The Accident investigators would surely notice that the cause of injuries was not a non functioning air bag, but a MISSING one . D |

Most airbags have a lifespan of 10 years , I wonder how many owners of older cars have them changed ? |

Morning, The MOT test is a mechanical inspection, the light for the airbags will not cause the vehicle to fail the test. |

Are headlights , break lights , indicators not included in a Cyprus mot ? not the last time I went He just drove it on the ramp , lifted it up a bit (he didnt want to bend to put the omission thing in the exhaust) let the engine run, went i the office and read his news paper for 5 mins , came out checked the omission thing on the computor ,, then said "thats fine" . As he reversed it off the the ramp for me to go , I noticed a back brake light was out . |
